This beautiful Wendell Berry poem sets a mood of quiet and serenity and this piece captures this same mood through the music using lovely harmonic moments to draw both the singer and the listener in. The cello and piano accompaniment is quite stirring and also adds to the overall mood of the piece. The cello part is included in the octavo.
“I go among trees and sit still.All my stirring becomes quietaround me like circles on water.My tasks lie in their placeswhere I left them, asleep like cattle.
